A very Happy New Year to all readers. 2013 has been a great year with amazing support from not only 'home turf' but also places as far afield as Hong Kong, Canada, France and the Bahamas. Thanks to all for their generous contributions. The Trust has also forged strong relations with the University of the West of England (UWE), Falmouth University and the Plymouth Marine Laboratory in the production of a 2-minute cartoon on Ocean Acidification (title to be decided over the next month or so). The plan is to 'launch' this cartoon at the Bristol Festival of Nature on 14th June 2014.
We have held the conviction of a direct linkage between shark depletion and coral deterioration for the last 7 years. This conviction has been borne out by the latest 'Article' on this website entitled," Killing Sharks is Killing Coral Reefs too" .This article was composed by Mark Meekan, the principle research scientist at the Australian Institute of Marine Science. One of the outlets ('The Conversation') has kindly given us the permission to reproduce this important article in full.
The Trust is also in touch with a major children's publisher and hopes to progress the education of youngsters on important marine conservation matters through them
Once again, thank you for all your generous support - - without it, we could not exist !!
